Flint Group is looking for an Analytical R&D Engineer for their Research and Development Laboratory, based in Trelleborg, Sweden

Flint Group manufactures and markets an extensive portfolio of conventional and energy curable inks, printing plates for flexo and letterpress, sleeve systems for flexographic applications, pigments and additives for use in inks and other colourant applications, printing blankets, sleeves and pressroom chemicals for offset printing. We offer our customers a unique portfolio of system solutions and technical service. New products are jointly developed together with customers and partners.

Professional and motivated employees ensure our success and we are now looking for a R&D Engineer. In this role we expect that you provide industry leadership through the development of innovative products and processes that will enable successful results for our customers.

Main Challenges

  • Design and formulate UV curable inks through knowledge of chemistry and chemical physics
  • Evaluate the performance of inks both with simple tests and with advanced chemical analysis
  • Plan, execute and conclude product development work on assigned projects within the agreed time frame
  • Fully complete assigned projects and communicate the results through internal documents
  • Navigate in defined project structure with multiple stakeholders to secure efficient project execution
  • Act within global regulatory environment and secure sustainable solutions for our customers
  • Support other functions with troubleshooting tasks either locally or at a customer and suggest appropriate corrective course of action


  • MSc or BSc degree in Organic and/or Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering with a major in Organic and/or Analytical Chemistry
  • Knowledge and experience with chemical analytical techniques (such as LC-MS and GC-MS) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of statistical methods such as design-of-experiments is an advantage
  • Dedication and passion about printing inks
  • Analytical mindset and identifies the central part of complex problems and questions
  • Can absorb new technology quickly
  • Team player that acknowledges others contribution, by listening, consulting and discussion with others
  • Good communication skills, both in written and oral
  • Pro-active entrepreneur
  • Fluent English language skills both verbal and in written
